VMware vSphere 8: Install, Configure, Manage

Most disaster recovery plans share a weakness: they have never run. The runbook lives in a document, the failover order lives in someone’s head, and the first full rehearsal is the disaster itself. VMware Live Site Recovery — the product formerly known as Site Recovery Manager — exists to turn that document into orchestration: protection groups, executable recovery plans, and test failovers that rehearse the real thing without touching production.
This course teaches the product end to end — replication options, plan design, non-disruptive testing, failback — but its real output is organizational: a DR capability that is exercised quarterly instead of trusted annually. It suits teams formalizing recovery after an audit finding, a near-miss, or a compliance deadline, and admins inheriting an SRM estate under its new name.
We organize delivery through authorized partners — live online in your time zone, on site, or as a private group, optionally extended with a custom workshop that rehearses your own recovery plan across virtualization, storage and backup.
Topic areas below are grouped in our own words. The full official agenda is available on request — it comes from the authorized partner as part of your quote.

Fill in the form below — it takes a couple of minutes. Within 5 business days you compare 2–3 concrete offers — provider, instructor, dates, price below the public list. We contract and administer the delivery end to end. Details:how we work and vendor training.
Factual criteria only — level, duration, audience and certification. The right choice depends on your team's starting point and stack.
The platform foundation this course assumes — Live Site Recovery orchestrates vSphere environments and is administered through the same concepts. Admins new to vSphere should take ICM first.
The storage-layer view of the same problem: snapshots, replication and failover at the array level. Choose it for storage teams on NetApp; Live Site Recovery training for the orchestration layer that recovers whole application environments in order.
DR spanning virtualization, storage replication and a backup product? A custom program can rehearse your actual recovery plan across all three layers — the integration no single-product course covers.
If your team needs a subset of this program — or a mix of topics from several courses — we build a custom 2–4 day intensive on our own materials, shaped by your infrastructure. One custom program typically replaces 2–3 catalog courses.
Explore custom coursesYes — VMware Live Site Recovery is the current name for what was long sold as Site Recovery Manager, renamed as part of the Broadcom-era portfolio reshuffle. Existing SRM skills and designs carry over; the course teaches the product under its current name and packaging.
Both layers: vSphere Replication as the built-in option and the role of array-based replication where storage teams provide it. The orchestration content — protection groups, recovery plans, testing — is the core, since that is what the product uniquely adds.
Yes — non-disruptive test failover into an isolated network is one of the product’s defining capabilities, and the course treats it as the habit that separates working DR from documented DR. Teams typically leave planning quarterly rehearsals.
It is precisely the escape route: recovery plans encode that spreadsheet as an executable, testable sequence — startup order, dependencies, network remapping. Participants regularly rebuild their manual runbook as a recovery plan during the labs.
Fill in the request form on this page — team size, format, timing. Within 5 business days you receive 2–3 options from authorized partners with vetted instructors, dates and prices below public lists.
