VMware Cloud Foundation 9.0: Build, Manage and Secure

Running virtualization for one organization is a solved problem; running it for dozens of paying tenants on shared hardware is a different discipline entirely. Isolation has to be real, allocation models have to match what sales actually sold, and a tenant’s self-service experiments must never take down a neighbor. VMware Cloud Director 10.x: Install, Configure, Manage is the course for teams who operate that discipline.
Over five days it builds the full provider skill set: deploying and scaling Cloud Director itself, designing provider VDCs and allocation models, NSX-backed tenant networking, catalogs and vApp templates that form the actual service offering, and the metering that keeps billing honest. It is the standard preparation for engineers at VMware-based cloud providers — and for enterprise teams offering internal business units the same self-service experience.
As a training operator, we arrange delivery through authorized partners with instructors who run provider platforms in production — live online in your time zone, on site, or as a private group shaped around your service design.

The private-cloud platform course: building and operating the full VCF stack for one organization. Choose VCF when you run your own cloud; Cloud Director when you sell or serve cloud capacity to many isolated tenants on top of that infrastructure.
The foundation layer. Cloud Director orchestrates vSphere resources, so administrators weak on clusters, resource pools and vCenter operations should take VSICM8 first — this course assumes that knowledge and builds the multi-tenant layer on top.
Launching a specific provider offering? A custom program can rehearse your service design end to end — allocation models, tenant onboarding runbooks and catalog strategy for your actual commercial plan — beyond what the catalog course covers.
If your team needs a subset of this program — or a mix of topics from several courses — we build a custom 2–4 day intensive on our own materials, shaped by your infrastructure. One custom program typically replaces 2–3 catalog courses.
Explore custom coursesIts home market is cloud and managed service providers selling multi-tenant capacity. But enterprises use it too: internal clouds where business units or subsidiaries get isolated, self-service virtual data centers with quotas and their own networking. The skills are the same.
Tenant networking in Cloud Director rides on NSX, and the course covers that integration from the Cloud Director side. Prior NSX exposure helps but is not mandatory; teams designing complex provider networking often add dedicated NSX training to the same plan.
It covers the platform side: resource allocation models, metering and the consumption data that billing systems consume. Actual invoicing is handled by external tooling; the course makes clear which data Cloud Director provides and where integrations attach.
Yes. The curriculum follows the current 10.x generation, and core concepts — provider VDCs, allocation models, tenant isolation — are stable across recent releases. Instructors flag version differences relevant to your estate, including upgrade considerations, during delivery.
Fill in the request form on this page — team size, format, timing. Within 5 business days you receive 2–3 options from authorized partners with vetted instructors, dates and prices below public lists.
