VMware Cloud Foundation 9.0: Build, Manage and Secure

NSX sits at an awkward organizational seam: too network for virtualization admins, too virtual for network engineers — and in VMware Cloud Foundation it is load-bearing infrastructure that someone must genuinely understand. NSX 4.x: Install, Configure, Manage is the course that builds that understanding: overlay networking, Tier-0/Tier-1 routing, distributed firewalling and the operational tooling to see what the virtual network is actually doing.
The 4.x generation matters: NSX-T 3.x courses are retired, and current deployments — standalone or inside VCF 9 — run on the 4.x line. Teams with 3.x-era training carry their concepts over but need the current platform depth.
We organize delivery through authorized partners with full lab environments — live online in your time zone, on site, or as a private group, with a networking primer or micro-segmentation workshop added where it helps.
Topic areas below are grouped in our own words. The full official agenda is available on request — it comes from the authorized partner as part of your quote.

Factual criteria only — level, duration, audience and certification. The right choice depends on your team's starting point and stack.
Covers NSX as an integrated part of the full Cloud Foundation stack. Choose VCF9-BMS for platform generalists; this dedicated course for the engineers who own networking and security policy in depth.
The compute-platform foundation NSX assumes. Admins without solid vSphere grounding should take it first — NSX concepts land badly on shaky virtualization basics.
For a micro-segmentation project specifically, a custom program can pair NSX firewalling with a policy-design workshop on your actual application inventory — the part deployments stall on.
If your team needs a subset of this program — or a mix of topics from several courses — we build a custom 2–4 day intensive on our own materials, shaped by your infrastructure. One custom program typically replaces 2–3 catalog courses.
Explore custom coursesThe architecture carries over; 4.x updates the platform, features and the certification track. Engineers trained on NSX-T 3.2 usually need a delta rather than the full course — tell us your baseline and we will size the right option.
Effectively yes: in VCF, NSX provides the networking layer by design. Platform teams get the integrated view in the VCF course; whoever owns networking day-to-day benefits from this dedicated depth.
It assumes solid enterprise networking concepts — routing, VLANs, basic BGP awareness. vSphere admins without that background should expect extra preparation; we can add a short networking primer to a private delivery.
It covers the distributed firewall mechanics thoroughly; segmentation strategy for your application landscape is where a custom workshop on your inventory adds the most value on top.
