For many organizations FortiGate is enough. FortiProxy earns its place where proxy-grade depth is required: per-user policy granularity, extensive content inspection, caching, and architectures — often regulated ones — that mandate an explicit proxy tier between users and the internet.
Does the course cover TLS inspection and its pitfalls?
In depth. Decrypting user traffic at a proxy raises certificate deployment, application exemptions, performance and privacy questions all at once. The course treats TLS inspection as a program to run carefully, not a checkbox to enable.
Can FortiProxy policies follow users rather than IP addresses?
Yes — identity integration is a core topic: directory-based authentication so filtering, quotas and logging attach to people and groups. It is the difference between a web policy and a guessing game about who sat at which address.
Is FortiProxy a step toward or away from SASE?
