SDWFND Training for Your Team — Cisco SD-WAN Operation and Deployment

SD-WAN fabrics have a habit of arriving faster than the skills to run them: a migration project delivers the controllers and edge routers, then hands the dashboard to an operations team trained on CLI-era WANs. SDWFND (Cisco SD-WAN Operation and Deployment) is the two-day course that closes exactly that gap — architecture, fabric bring-up, policy behavior and day-two operations, taught hands-on and without assuming anyone has touched the platform before.

It serves two audiences equally well: operations and support teams who inherit a running fabric and need to operate it confidently, and architects or team leads who need enough real understanding to scope a migration before committing to it. For engineers heading toward implementation work and the CCNP Enterprise concentration exam, SDWFND is the natural on-ramp to the full ENSDWI course.

We organize delivery through authorized partners and vetted instructors who operate SD-WAN fabrics in production — live online in your time zone, on site, or as a private group built around your deployment.

Who this course is for

  • Network engineers meeting Cisco SD-WAN for the first time
  • Operations teams inheriting a fabric someone else deployed
  • Architects and team leads scoping an SD-WAN migration
  • Engineers deciding whether to commit to the full implementation course

SDWFND vs alternatives: which to choose

Factual criteria only — level, duration, audience and certification. The right choice depends on your team's starting point and stack.

Cisco ENSDWI (Implementing SD-WAN Solutions)

The full five-day implementation course behind exam 300-415, a CCNP Enterprise concentration. Choose ENSDWI for engineers who will design and build the fabric and want the certification; SDWFND is the two-day operational foundation for everyone around them.

Cisco SDWSCS (SD-WAN Security and Cloud)

The follow-on specialist course: embedded security policies, direct internet access and cloud onramps on an already-understood fabric. Take SDWFND or ENSDWI first — SDWSCS assumes the fabric fundamentals and builds the security and cloud layer on top.

A custom intensive

Rolling out SD-WAN to a large operations team? A custom program on our materials can teach exactly your fabric — your templates, your policies, your escalation paths — which lands faster with first-line teams than any generic curriculum.

Need only part of SDWFND?

If your team needs a subset of this program — or a mix of topics from several courses — we build a custom 2–4 day intensive on our own materials, shaped by your infrastructure. One custom program typically replaces 2–3 catalog courses.

SDWFND: frequently asked questions

How does SDWFND differ from ENSDWI?

Scope and depth. SDWFND is a two-day foundation: architecture, fabric bring-up, policy concepts and day-two operations, aimed at engineers who run or evaluate SD-WAN. ENSDWI is the five-day implementation course with exam 300-415 behind it, for the engineers who design and build the fabric.

Does SDWFND prepare for a certification exam?

No — it carries no exam and is deliberately a foundation course. Engineers who need certification continue to ENSDWI and exam 300-415, a CCNP Enterprise concentration. SDWFND makes that step easier: the architecture and policy model arrive prepared rather than for the first time.

Is the course useful before an SD-WAN migration decision?

Yes — that is one of its two classic audiences. Architects and team leads use the two days to understand controllers, policy behavior and operational load well enough to scope a migration realistically, before committing budget. The other audience is operations teams inheriting a running fabric.

How hands-on is a two-day foundation course?

Genuinely hands-on: participants work with the management interface, onboard edge devices, apply policies and read fabric state in labs rather than watching slides. The compression is in depth of design topics, not in lab time — operational confidence is the point of the course.
