How does ENSLD fit into CCNP Enterprise?

ENSLD prepares you for exam 300-420, one of the concentration exams. Combined with the core exam covered by ENCOR, it completes CCNP Enterprise certification. It is the natural concentration for engineers moving toward architecture and design roles.

Is this a lecture course or hands-on?

Design courses work differently from implementation courses: instead of configuration labs, you work through design activities and case studies — requirements, constraints, trade-offs, and defending your choices. Participants say the arguing is the most useful part.

Does ENSLD cover wireless design?

Only at the architecture level — where the WLAN fits in the campus. Detailed wireless design, RF surveys and high-density planning are the subject of the dedicated ENWLSD course; teams owning both often plan them as a sequence.

Should we take ENCOR or ENSLD first?

For certification, ENCOR first: it covers the mandatory core exam and the implementation baseline that design discussion builds on. Experienced engineers who only need design skills, without the certification, sometimes take ENSLD standalone — that works too.
