Is Catalyst Center the same product as Cisco DNA Center?
Yes — Cisco renamed DNA Center to Catalyst Center, and the platform has continued evolving under the new name, including changed deployment options. The course teaches the current platform; for engineers who knew it under the old name, it doubles as a structured update.
Does CCFND require automation or scripting skills?
No. The course works through the platform itself — discovery, templates, assurance, image management — via its interface, with APIs introduced as an overview near the end. Engineers who then want to automate the controller programmatically continue to ENAUI, where Python and APIs take over.
Does the course prepare for a certification exam?
No exam maps to CCFND — it is a platform foundation course. Catalyst Center material does appear inside the CCNP Enterprise curriculum, so teams pursuing certification usually plan ENCOR, with CCFND serving the operations staff who need the platform rather than the credential.
We have Catalyst Center deployed but barely used — is this course the fix?
