Is this course for enterprise or service provider engineers?
Both, deliberately. The protocol is the same; the design patterns differ. Enterprise students focus on multihoming and edge policy, provider students on scaling and peering. In private groups the instructor weights the scenarios toward the side of the fence your team sits on.
Does the BGP course prepare for a specific exam?
It is a technology course rather than exam preparation, but BGP is heavily tested in 300-410 ENARSI and across the CCNP Service Provider exams. Teams often take it to master the protocol properly, then close the remaining exam topics with ENARSI or SPCOR.
How much of the week is lab work?
A substantial share — this is a configuration course by design. Students build eBGP and iBGP sessions, apply policy with route maps and communities, configure route reflectors, and break and repair sessions on purpose so the troubleshooting habits stick.
