Is "intent-based networking" more than a slogan?

The operational change is real: instead of configuring devices one by one, you declare policy centrally and a controller renders it across the estate, then continuously verifies the result. The course focuses on that working loop — design, provision, policy, assurance — not the vocabulary.

Do we need SD-Access hardware already deployed to attend?

No. Labs provide the Catalyst Center and fabric environment. Teams typically attend in the evaluation or early-rollout phase, precisely because seeing the operating model hands-on before committing budget is cheaper than discovering it afterward.

How does IBNTRN differ from ENCOR?

Scope and purpose. ENCOR is broad certification preparation across the whole enterprise stack; IBNTRN is a focused transformation course on the intent-based operating model — Catalyst Center, fabric, policy and migration. Engineers pursuing CCNP Enterprise still need ENCOR.

Can we migrate gradually, or is fabric all-or-nothing?

Gradually — and the course treats coexistence as a first-class topic. Fabric and traditional segments run side by side during migration, and the sequencing of that transition is exactly the part teams most often get wrong without training.
