The course prepares participants for exam 300-440, one of the newer CCNP Enterprise concentrations — added in 2024 precisely because this skill set stopped being optional.

ENCC vs alternatives: which to choose

Cisco ENSDWI (SD-WAN)

The SD-WAN concentration: building and operating the Catalyst SD-WAN fabric itself. Choose ENSDWI if the fabric is new to your team; ENCC assumes SD-WAN literacy and focuses on stretching connectivity into cloud providers securely.

Cisco ENCOR (Enterprise Core)

The mandatory CCNP Enterprise core and the assumed baseline for ENCC. Take ENCOR first for certification; ENCC is one of the newer concentration options, introduced in 2024 for the hybrid-cloud reality most enterprises now run.

How does ENCC fit into CCNP Enterprise?

ENCC prepares you for exam 300-440, one of the concentration exams introduced in 2024. Paired with the core exam covered by ENCOR, it completes CCNP Enterprise — the natural choice for engineers whose WAN now ends inside a cloud provider.

Which cloud providers does the course cover?

Connectivity patterns to the major public clouds — AWS, Azure and Google Cloud — including internet-based, dedicated-circuit and interconnect options. The design method transfers across providers; labs focus on the Cisco side of the connection.

Do participants need SD-WAN experience first?

It helps considerably. ENCC builds on Catalyst SD-WAN concepts when extending fabrics into cloud, so engineers new to SD-WAN usually take ENSDWI first. Teams running classic WAN edges can still benefit — we flag the right sequence when planning.

Is this a networking course or a cloud course?

A networking course, deliberately. Cloud teams learn provider consoles; this course covers the part they usually skip — routing, encryption, segmentation and troubleshooting of the paths between your network and theirs. That seam is where hybrid outages live.
