Is DCFNDU too basic for someone with CCNA?

No — CCNA covers enterprise networking, while DCFNDU introduces the data center stack: Nexus and fabrics, storage networking, UCS compute and automation concepts. A CCNA holder will move faster through the switching parts but typically meets storage and UCS material for the first time.

Does this course lead to a certification?

Not directly — there is no exam attached. It is the standard on-ramp to the CCNP Data Center track: DCFNDU builds the foundations, then DCCOR prepares the 350-601 core exam. Treat it as the difference between attending DCCOR and surviving it.

How technical does it get?

Hands-on but forgiving: guided labs on switching, storage and compute basics, aimed at comprehension rather than speed. Attendees leave able to navigate NX-OS, explain what a fabric or a service profile is, and follow a data center design discussion without bluffing.

We are onboarding several career-changers at once — does a private group make sense?
